np. Jónsi – Seg du mer?
Shounen Club from April the 6th, and also the beginning of a new season.
The HSW-issue was out on the walls and even if they HAVE been banned out of the Junior-league (apparently), they’re still very much a part of the show, taking up turns in medleys, having the letter-corner to themselves and also performing.
*sigh*

Anyways, on with the show.
The theme of the episode is (once again) 「出会い」 [Deai, Encounters/Meetings], and the special guest is the all-time-favourite, Junior-leader from the sc. “golden times” of the Juniors, Tackey [滝沢秀明, Takizawa Hideaki].
The intros played when the juniors come up on stage are actually famous songs sung by Tackey, and in following order: 「Taste Me」, 「2人の夜」 [Futari no Yoru, that Tackey btw both composed and wrote the lyrics for himself using his song-writing name "LaVenDer"], 「JOURNEY」, 「BALANCE」 and 「気まぐれJET」, and in the last one he leads the performance himself.

The Deai-medley: 「大阪 Romanesque」 of Kanjani8 (here when the camera cuts to Kansai-Jr. 中田大智(なかた だいち [Tanaka Daichi], the audience cheers a lot), 「君と僕の6ヶ月」 [Kimi to Boku no Rokkagetsu] of SMAP, 「たいせつ」 [Taisetsu] of SMAP, 「Way of Life」 of V6 by Yamashita Shoon as solo. This was actually nice, I was really surprised. But oh my, how they screamed.
The last song is 「Happiness」 of Arashi, and most of the kids join in.

HSW has an own corner. HeiseiPost (no comment) and then they perform their song 「Chance to Change」, in which half of the group mixes “chance” and “change” in the lyrics wrong all the way.
Ah well.

In the guest-interview we have Tackey’s special project, dance-unit 舞闘冠 [Butoukan] (..the what?), with the producer-san himself ![]()
Koyama actually calls him ‘生みの親’, which is more like a.. founder or creator.
They have a little chit-chat about what the group’ll do in the future.
Tackey really makes the crowd live it up in the NHK-hall (..of course he does ^^).
A live of 「Now and Forever」, which is a little stiff, but they did change the coreography from the one studio-live seen a while ago.
Keep going and make a real dance-song the next time!

Junior League. The first battle of the season.
Tackey looks like he’s about to fall asleep (this was filmed in the hectic mess last month, in the middle of the T&T BEST-tour and planning and rehearsing of this year’s Enbujou, which is btw in full roll right at the moment).
Anyways, the point is “Takizawa-mania” aka they ask the juniors questions about Tackey and who writes the right answer to the board, gets 10 points.
First they ask for his favourite food, then something he ate the previous night, his real blood-type and lastly where he was born.
ALL of the boys have worked with Tackey in _various_ musicals and should have clicked at least the last one (ONE!).
But what we learned is that Ishigaki (of Question?) apparently studies idol-mags very much and that Nikaido tried to be sneaky (and that first he couldn’t figure out the kanji’s of the name and wrote it with kana. Fail
), but Tackey didn’t actually call him on it on air.
I think someone who went to the taping, said that he’d said something about it but they didn’t show it.
But, no Senga which would have been a true win-win for everyone.
And I am so disturbed by the fact that Nikaido reminds me of Kamenashi more day by day.

Quetion?’s live of 「Parallel World」.
…did they all go to the same hairdresser (except Akun) or what?
Jr. Q.
Fujigaya and Kitayama of Kis-My-Ft2 talk about “important meetings” of their lives. Kitayama of course pulls out the Tackey-card (I bet half of the juniors would say that if asked ;p) and Fujigaya kindly settles for Tsubasa.
And then, because Nakamaru and Fujigaya went to the same audition, Nakamaru’s digged up a photo of Fujigaya when he applied. Fujigaya gets a bit.. worked up. But not to be unfair, Koyama also has Nakamaru’s one ![]()

A.B.C. does 「Sayonara-BOX」.
I am so impressed by Kawai’s rapping. Please rap more. I don’t use heart-emoticons, but if I did, I would use one here.

Kis-My-Ft2’s 「Brand New Season」, where Kitayama and Fujigaya smirk at each other a lot and where the white outfits have been discarded and silver has come back.
Tackey does the lead for the closing song 「Crazy Rainbow」.

Alright, next week we have Yara as a guest. I don’t think I posted the translated preview anywhere outside the forum, but tell me if you want it here too.

i really hope you can post summary for next week SC..
TQ..; )
I don’t get Nikaido’s 2x response of “Imai Tsubasa.” What does that mean? Are Tackey & Tsubasa a couple or something?
Comment by SteffiPi April 13, 2008 @ 9:17 amNikaido’s answers to the first two food-questions don’t really make sense actually. Nikaido just wanted to mix Tsubasa in somehow, and being the sneaky kid he is…
As said, Tackey called him on that, but they didn’t show it in the broadcast.
The whole “couple-thing” is something the (foreign, i.e. non-japanese) fangirls try to fire up, and that goes to the file of stupidity with all the other coupling-them-up around.
When bumping to this “are they gay” -topics about Asian stars, my fingers practically itch to write an essay about the
a) cultural differences
b) showbusiness rules and customs in Fareast Asia
but I’ve just never gotten around to do that. Maybe because it’s very rare for me to try to “fix out” or correct things in the English-speaking JE-community.
There are simply too many things that are commonly believed as true (or even facts, in the worst case), but in reality are everything but that.
So I really don’t bother, as long as no one comes telling me anything of it.
Tackey & Tsubasa are very good friends, end of story.
Comment by aleyna333 April 13, 2008 @ 1:11 pmThanks for responding to my question. I watched various segments of this episode on Youtube before it was abruptly taken off. My Japanese is limited and while I could understand the game categories, I wasn’t sure about the comments being made about Nikaido’s answers! (Tackey has got the cutest mouth…..the way it turns up in the corners)
Comment by SteffiPi April 14, 2008 @ 2:55 amBy the way I stumbled upon your site by accident yesterday and I must tell you that I really love it. We don’t get to see any J-pop, much less Johnny’s programs where I live, so I depend solely online! I love the Shounen Club (kisumai, esp. Taipi & Senga, ABC and Question?’s Gakki!) and always watch it in mixed up segments on Youtube so, to be able to read your summaries in english, in chronological order and in it’s entirety is so much appreciated!!! I know you mentioned somewhere that you may discontinue translating, but please don’t! I’ve enjoyed going back to past episodes and filling in the gaps of what I had missed!
If you want to watch the full episodes and can use torrents, they’re usually uploaded to JPS Tracker in a few days after the broadcast.
I’m really glad people find this useful, even if I don’t actually “translate translate” things in the end (that’s because I don’t want to spoil it all and also because I dislike word-to-word -translating).
I wasn’t sure if I should keep going with SC since there was the threat that the show’d been “taken over” by HSW, but since that was not the case, I think I’ll keep doing this for a while
The format actually needs some refreshing, but that’ll probably come next season and not secessarily involving HSW.
